WebSphere Commerce Enterprise
WebSphere Commerce Enterprise supports all of the enterprise capabilities of WebSphere Commerce Professional, plus the B2B benefits that are described here.
Marketing Experimentation (A/B Testing)
Allows business users to align marketing activities with customer preferences, such as Promotions, Creative Content, Merchandising and more. Business users can create test alternatives and evaluate customer response.
Marketing Experimentation allows business users to:
- Easily start and end tests at anytime
- Rapidly deploy the most effective approach without involvement from IT.
- Run multiple tests simultaneously
- Run A/B tests or A/B/C/D… tests as needed
- Run tests against different audiences
Some of the Marketing Experimentation benefits are:
- Help increase conversion rates
- Help increase site stickiness
- Help reduce marketing costs across channels
- Help mitigate risk of unforeseen market reactions, minimize negative reactions to messages, content, and other tactics
Search Engine Optimization
WebSphere Commerce's search engine optimization feature consists of the following functions:
- URL mapping, which provides the ability to remove the stop characters by mapping WebSphere Commerce's dynamic URLs to static ones so that search engines can index the dynamic pages.
- Site map capability, which provides an entry point for the search engine crawler to easily follow the links within your web pages.WebSphere Commerce helps to facilitate the optimization of page content so that the page is ranked high in search engine results. It provides the ability to easily modify words in the locations that are important for crawlers, by using the Product Management GUI, or by using the Change Pages GUI in WebSphere Commerce Accelerator.
WebSphere Commerce provides the functionality to remove the inhibitors so that the pages can be indexed by search engines, and to facilitate the optimization of page content. The ranking of your pages in the search results depends largely on how you optimize your pages.
Promotions enhancements
- Improve flexibility for “Buy One Get One” (BOGO) promotion type. Make BOGO more configurable by allowing customer to specify the number of discounted items instead of defaulting to just one.
- Add new shipping discounts to accommodate multiple shipping modes (carriers) per order.
- Provide greater flexibility in how promotion codes are used including the support of multiple promotion codes per promotion, and the ability to have one promotion code activate several promotions.
Remember Me (persistent session)
WebSphere Commerce now supports persistent sessions. With a persistent session, a customer at a WebSphere Commerce store will be recognized on subsequent visits to the store, even after closing the session. The sessions can be persisted for either guest customers or registered customers.
Extended Sites enhancements
Extended Sites provide support for multiple sites aimed at different audiences. This feature was enhanced to include new organization and user registration dialog boxes that streamline the process of deploying extended sites. In addition, catalog asset stores can use the catalog import tool to load their data.
Acting on behalf of a registered customer
An administrator can act on behalf of a customer for multiple requests in a session. If an administrator has the required authority, that administrator can assume the identity of that user for all subsequent requests. Administrators can switch back to their original identities at any time. For example, if customers contact the store and state that they cannot view discounts to which they are entitled, the administrator might want to shop at the store as that customer to verify the issue.
Shopping under multiple accounts
A buyer can now shop under multiple accounts, meaning that they can be entitled to the contracts of different accounts.
WebSphere Commerce Developer enhancements
WebSphere Commerce Developer V6.0 now uses Rational Application Developer.
IBM Support Assistant
The IBM Support Assistant is a mechanism to help you investigate and resolve problems without having to contact IBM support. If you do need to contact IBM support for additional assistance, the IBM Support Assistant helps you open problem management records (PMRs) electronically and initially collects all logging information to make the overall process run smoother. As the WebSphere Commerce product delivers more support content electronically, the IBM Support Assistant locates and uses this information in an efficient and effective manner.
