The standard implementation of a portal solution
should generally pose no great difficulties when
working together with an experienced service
partner. There are, however, enough special cases
to challenge even most experts:
How can I integrate existing applications into the
portal when such an integration option is not
provided out-of-the-box with my portal software?
How can I implement a real SOA strategy with
WebSphere Portal? What are the typical pitfalls
regularly encountered with an SOA and how can
I avoid them right from the start? What details
have to be taken care of when migrating a portal
based on WebSphere Portal 5.1 to release 6.0?
And are there any lessons to be learned from
past successful portal projects?

in order to make your portal project a successful
one, you have to be able to answer these critical
questions before you start working on your
portal solution. WP-Experts’ portal professionals do
have the answers, and, in course of our new series
of events called „Portal Academy“, they want to
share their knowledge with selected CIOs. For the
first meeting of the Portal Academy, taking place
on June 21th 2007 at the Klosterkapelle in Cologne,
we have brought together a number of top-class specialists:

Oliver Trabert, portal architect and CTO of WP-Experts, explains how to deal with the build and deployment process in WebSphere Portal projects efficiently.

J2EE architect Uwe Wardenbach reports on the introduction of an SOA with WebSphere Portal and in course also covers the use and combination of so-called web services to enable application-spreading features purely based upon web technology.

Jacek Zimorodzki, portal architect at WP-Experts, provides useful dos and don’ts for the migration of WebSphere 5.1 to 6.0 and introduces the special Migration Toolkit developed by WP-Experts for this task.

Participation is free of charge, the number of participants, however, is limited to 20. Incoming registrations will be dealt with „first come, first serve“. Do not hesitate and register right now with our Registration Form
